RM of McKillop - Regular Council Meeting - July 18th, 2023 

  • Council reviewed the financial report. There appeared to be a couple of entry mistakes that the finance officer will correct. 
  • The audit has still not been returned. It is in the process of being reviewed with the accounting firm. A special meeting will be held to review and approve the audited financial statements when received. 
  • The RM will send a thank you note to the ratepayers who assisted the RM with putting out a grass fire. 
  • The decision was made to close the Clearview boat launch and to improve the boat launch at Shoreline. Shoreline will be able to accommodate more parking than the Clearview launch. • Council voted to have a water and sewer study done for the RM and to explore grants to help with the cost. 
  • PARCS will host a conference in Saskatoon on October 13-14, 2023. The RM will send Councillors to attend and possibly the Acting CAO, depending on the agenda. 
  • Second and third readings of the Golf Cart and Public Consumption of Alcohol Bylaws were passed. They are now adopted by the RM and will now be implemented. 
  • The purchase contract to acquire land for the Organized Hamlet of Collingwood was reviewed and approved. The funds for the purchase will come from Collingwood’s reserve account. • The RM will renew our Shop Lease Agreement. 
  • Administration was directed to send out “Expression of Interest” forms for the Fox’s Point Advisory Committee. Terms are for 24 months. The committee completed a survey and will have a final report to present to Council soon. 
  • Council reviewed a subdivision application for Alta Vista and supported the Proposed Plan of Survey. 
  • Council had directed Administration to source an engineer to assist with planning at the Sun Dale WTP. The engineering contract for services was presented to Council and was approved. • Ratepayers in Sun Dale will be allowed to install a septic tank with a small grinder or 2-stage pump.
