- RM Legal Council provided Ethics and Conflict of Interest training for all of Council and the Acting CAO. This meets the requirements of the previously prescribed training for an Ethics Complaint.
- Council received a delegation (an engineer) to discuss the future of the Sun Dale water treatment plant. The RM will engage in community consultation with the residents of Sun Dale. The RM will replace the pumps and restore automation at the plant.
- Public Works is half done with crack sealing on Grid 731 east of Strasbourg. They have finished the project on Township Road 234, east of Highway 220. A project at Heritage Valley to fix a culvert and ditches has been completed.
- The SARM midterm convention is in November. The Acting CAO, Councillors Bondar, Whitrow and Gilbert, and the Reeve will attend.
- Administration will reach out to our auditors to try and change the dates of the RM audit to much sooner in the new year.
- Sea Cans or intermodal shipping containers will no longer be considered such if sufficiently modified for another purpose.
- Administration will contact SaskPoly regarding a study/assessment of the Shoreline and Clearview Boat Launches. Collingwood previously had a similar project completed at no cost to the hamlet through SaskPoly.
- Council will reach out to Sask Wildlife to discuss the Fox’s Point Advisory Committee’s proposal. Council agreed to the draft agreements, with an amendment for an admin fee, with four resort villages to provide maintenance on their access roads.
- Council approved the consolidation of two lots with conditions that it is for development purposes.
- The office will order directional signs for Collingwood.
- Special Meeting – Council held a special meeting on Aug 9th, 2023, at 9 am. They passed the first and second reading of the DRAFT Bylaw 438-2023 Mill Rate, Mill Rate Factors, and Minimum Tax. The draft bylaw can be found on the RM website rmofmckillop220.com. There will be a Special Council Meeting Friday, Aug. 11, 2023 at 9am for Council to consider the third and final reading to approve the bylaw.
