At the June 27th meeting of the RM of McKillop Council, RM ratepayer, former Councillor and President of the Provincial Association of Resort Communities, Gary Dixon, spoke to Council during the open session of the meeting. He said LMT reported his name regarding a conflict of interest complaint he lodged and would take action.
“I don’t know who leaked that out but it would’ve had to come from Council. So some councilor broke their oath by discussing or letting out information that should have been in closed session. And I don’t know if someone wants to admit to that but if no one does there will be an investigation. That’s a very serious offence. To let it out, stuff that’s supposed to be discussed in closed session into the public until such time that there is a motion relating to that. I did not receive a motion, or I did not give permission for my name to be used. So, having said that, be prepared.”
We called the RM of McKillop for comment. Acting CAO Camille Box said, “We have no comment at this time. We are not sure what next steps he intends to take.”
We reached out to Mr. Dixon for comment and have not received a response by publication.
