In early April of this year, I attended the SUMA(Sask. Urban Municipal Assoc.) convention in Regina. My lodging was at the Delta Hotel which has a parkade for registered vehicles. Before retiring, I checked out my window to see if all was well regarding my truck. I checked again at 4 AM- all was well. When I awoke at 7:00 AM & checked, to my dismay, the truck was gone and a different vehicle was in its place. I hurried to the parkade to be sure my eyes weren’t playing tricks on me. MY TRUCK WAS GONE!
I was DEVASTATED!! It wasn’t a new vehicle but had low miles, new tires, and a tank full of gas. I checked all five levels of the parkade to no avail. I reported it to the police and the insurance company. Taxis were used to get to my commitments, and I finally found a rental at the airport. The feeling of devastation continued with thoughts of it being in a chop-shop, or on the way to Ontario etc. etc. The next morning while leaving the parkade, I made a wrong turn before exiting- it was a restricted area. When I stopped to turn back, being in the lowest, darkest corner of the parkade, the headlights revealed off to my right, a vehicle left stranded in a pool of muddy, slimy, snow & water. There was my truck! It was intact except for some scratches on the roof because of the low ceiling & a broken door panel. The police said that the thief, or thieves, used electronics to bypass the security system. All of that didn’t matter- my truck was intact and it was restored to me. Ironically, the thief couldn’t get it out of the parkade without the ticket that opened the exit gate, nor did he attempt to drive through the barrier as it was under surveillance. Some personal items & loose change were all that was taken.
This incident reminds me of the things that occur on our life’s journey. We find ourselves locked in Satan’s Parkade with no way out. We run around in circles looking for an exit. We can’t get out because we don’t have the exit ticket to open the gate. GOOD NEWS!! Jesus is our TICKET out of Satan’s slimy parkade. The amount required has been prepaid to expedite our release. This was paid for us on Calvary. All we have to do is call upon Him. He will replace your DEVASTATION with His RESTORATION. He is our key. It works every time. Please try it. You’ll be glad you did. There is joy in Heaven over every soul that is restored to its Creator.
