We hear that the vaccines to protect us are arriving in Canada, and we will eventually be vaccinated. But when? In the meantime, we are trying to be very, very careful. We are mindful of our leaders in the political and health fields that continually remind us to wear masks, disinfect, wash hands, social distance, and stay at home to avoid contact with individuals that may carry the dreaded coronavirus. We are very restricted; shopping for groceries and other necessities becomes a concern and a danger. We cannot visit our children, grandchildren, or those dealing with illnesses in hospitals or care homes. We cannot worship at the church of our choice. All of these restrictions place a strain on our mental health. Through all of this, we must remain positive. We must have hope in our hearts and believe that normal times will return. Just remember.
Not everything is locked down.
Sunrise is not locked down. Fresh air is not locked down,
Family time, Friendships, Creativity is not locked down. Prayers, Hobbies, Hopes and dreams are not locked down. Kindness, Conversation, Imagination is not locked down. Sunsets are not locked down, and hope is not locked down.
Cherish what you have, stay at home and make the most of your time.
May you be safe, may you be happy, may you be well.
Through this pandemic and restrictions, we have our telephones to reach out to our families and friends and to those who suffer and grieve, often alone. A friendly, sympathetic phone call often brings healing. Reach out to those around you, and you will find your spirits rejuvenated by the warmth and understanding returned to you. Please remember, you have within your grasp the power of prayer to the most powerful One in the universe, your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is always listening, hears every prayer, and understands you better than you know yourself.
Ps. 46:1-3 “God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear.”
Philippians 4:6, “Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
Deuteronomy 31:27, “The Eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.”
Remember, our Savior, Jesus Christ, with His boundless love and caring compassion, will never be locked down.
We have the “Rock of Ages” to cling to. We should have absolutely no fears. GOD ABIDES WITH US.
