The event was originally planned to be held outdoors at the Govan Gazebo, but due to bad weather, the cooking was done inside the Fire Hall, and patrons we able to take their food, drinks, and ice cream to the Govan Seniors centre.
“...we had an awesome community Fundraiser with Great support from our small community! It is such a great pleasure to live in the town of Govan and call it home with our community spirit alive and well!” said Nettie Pearce - Last Mountain Co-op President, Govan Mayor.
Fuel good day is a day where participating Co-op gas bars donate a minimum of five cents per litre of fuel sold to a local registered charity or non-profit organization. In Govan, the Co-op grocery store donated all the food and drinks. The Last Mountain Co-op chose the Govan Fire Department, Nokomis Ag Society, and Raymore Mobility Bus to donate its proceeds.
